I think the color red is one that’s very bold and dangerous and adventurous and daring. In the context of my music, color red signifies deep emotion, crazy emotion, passion, affection, being in love with someone, jealousy, anger all those crazy feelings. Those feelings are all very like a hundred miles per hour. Zero to a hundred. I think that my life would definitely be the color red right now; if it had to be a color because it’s just bold.
Taylor Swift out and about in New York City on July 14th
There’s a general rule that I always go by, and it’s that you fall for who you fall for. Whatever small issue you get hung up on, whether it’s because they’re shorter than you, younger than you or they live far away - if you really are crazy about someone, none of that matters.
Anyone who thinks Taylor Swift isn’t good for the girl cause has to be crazy, because any woman who’s dominating the charts, the creative director of her own empire, and made whatever millions of dollars last year is only lifting us up. Killing it.
Left: day before Red was released. Right: summer before Album 5.

THE ANATOMY OF A TAYLOR SWIFT SONG
I have lot of goals, and one of them is to know when to stop. I love the sound of applause but I don’t want to become addicted to it in order to feel whole. It’s the creative part of music-making that I could never live without.
Taylor out in New York on June 19th
I think so much of our lives, of who we become, is all… a lot of it is determined on what happens to us in our lives; in our past and how we choose to handle what happens to us. ‘cause so much in life is out of our control and I’m absolutely terrified and mystified by the fact that we have no control over our circumstances sometimes. But we have complete control over how we handle our circumstances. And I guess.. I guess what I’m getting around to, is we can have our hearts broken and be left out in the cold and all that, but it doesn’t have to make us bitter. It doesn’t have to make us stop believing that love can really be a real, real feeling. I guess I’m just thinking out loud here because, I’ve had some.. I’ve had some bad things happen to me in the name of love. I’ve had some good things happen to me in the name of love. But all of it.. I remember all too well
And the camera flashes, make it look like a dream. You had it figured out since you were in school. Everybody loves pretty, everybody loves cool. So overnight you look like a sixties’ queen. Another name goes up in lights, like diamonds in the sky. And they’ll tell you now, you’re the lucky one. Yeah, they’ll tell you now, you’re the lucky one. But can you tell me now, you’re the lucky one, oh, oh, oh…They tell you that you’re lucky, But you’re so confused.
